At the first crashing sound of the barricade breaking, Tenten sprang into action. With a gun in each hand, she stood from where they were both shielded behind the lab counter and started shooting, The first bullet went flying through the skull of the nearest monster, the small spray of blood from behind indicating that the shot had cone all the way through to take out the second. And then it was like a tidal wave of gnashing mouths and undead limbs reaching out to take hold -- to take a bite and get that ever fatal taste -- of their prey.

It took every ounce of instinct and skill to keep from getting eaten, or even bitten. To stay one step ahead of the mass rush of zombies from overwhelming them with their numbers. And even then, she was forced to resort to her knives when the bullets ran out in order to defeat the last of them. All the while, she could hear the occasional boom of gunfire sounding off behind her, Tenten's only indication that Sasuke was till alive and kicking enough to fire the rounds at those that had managed to slip past her line of scrimmage.

And then, with a great whirlwind spin, it was over, the soft thud of decapitated heads the only noise to fill in the void alongside her quiet huffs of breath.

One look around the room showed it to be empty and devoid of all things undead. A quick glance out of the hall said the same. Even so, there was something unnaturally and inherently wrong about how the atmosphere felt. How it seemed to press in all around her. And after all the chaos of battling for her life -- their lives -- it all seemed far too quiet.

Carefully and cautiously Tenten shifted the weight of her body to one foot, leaning a bit in an attempt to see any sort of movement behind the counter where she had left her injured comrade. "...You still with me back there, Uchiha?"

When no word of response came -- not even a shuffle of movement -- the young woman made to rush towards the counter to check on him, hoping beyond hope that he was still alive and with them. But a step was all that she could manage to take before a rotting lump of flesh slipped around Tenten's neck, pulling her back with a sharp jerk that caused her to drop the knives in her hands. And then came the jolting pain shooting out from her shoulder.

Tenten's feet kicked at air, finding no purchase as the zombie slowly tried to drag her from the room. All the while, she struggled with all her might to break free from it's grip and seemingly bone-crushing bite. Because she knew what was coming next. She had watched the hordes of undead corpse tear apart a body enough times to know what would happen. Once she was outside in the open of the streets, there would be no hope of escape. All the while, the virus that had infected each and every one of them was slowly working its way through her bloodstream. So, even if she were to get free, there was still that to contend with.

All this culminated into the strong and almost animalistic need to fight with all her might for the freedom that seemed to be slipping through her grasp. Then, just when she was ready to give up all hope -- just when a numbness started to creep up through her limbs -- a resounding boom broke through the misted veil that had started to edge in the outskirts of her vision, and she was brought back to reality. Back to the world where she was still alive; still hopeful for a tomorrow free of flesh eating monsters. And as the zombie's limbs fell fell from her body, the contents of his skull splattering and spraying out in explosion of crimson ribbons, Tenten felt herself falling. And with a none-too-graceful crash, she was herself again, fighting for breath and lanced with pain.

Clutching at her bitten shoulder, the young woman managed enough strength to raise her head just far enough to see his silhouetted figure against the window.

"Remember," he panted with some effort, the smoke still curling around the barrel end of the gun, "Aim for the head."
