Dedicated to: Katsuro. Poor kid. Big sister's so mean. 8(

As the two clones took shape and steadily became an exact replica of the original, Mei kept a tentative eye on the young student's strained expression. It was clear that he had struggled with the technique at first, finding it difficult acquiring the proper amount of chakra flow to form the right number of copies that they had asked for. At least until the first clone had started to form. After that, it was a simple matter of adjusting his approach and completing the jutsu with as much dignity that could be mustered.

It could have been done better, she noted. His control still needed work -- something Mei would be sure to help with if only Katsuro were not so proud about asking -- and the lack of confidence that the young boy had would certainly need to be resolved before he could work to make himself better. But the task was completed, and in a timely manner. That was all that mattered. It was all they had been instructed to comment on before dealing out a pass or fail decision. He would learn to perfect it in due time with the guidance of his Jounin teacher.

"Thank you," Minato said in a professional and polite manner, "You may go."

"R-really?" Katsuro stuttered, understandably nervous about his performance, "B-but..."

"It's ok, Katsuro," Mei interrupted. And with a small flick of her head, she gestured for him to leave so that others could get their chance to pass or fail the evaluations.

After another moment of hesitation, an instance of nervous debate, the young boy was out the door and heading towards the freedom of the outside world. There was nothing left for him to do but wait for the results of their decision. And as uncertain as that was, at the very least all of the preparation and anxiety that came with the wait was over. Which was more than Mei could say.

"Your brother still has a long way to go," Tsume noted, scribbling down her notes on the appropriate sheet, "Especially if he wants to match up with his big sister."

"Maybe, but he meets all of the requirements for graduation," Mei responded, smirking just slightly at the thought, "Besides, one of him is hard enough to keep track of, I don't need more."
