With all the preparations that were being made to welcome the arrival of the Daimyo and his daughter, Mei had barely gotten a chance to sleep much in the past few weeks. Possibly months. So when she found herself with time off and enough sense to sleep in, it was a welcome reprieve. However, there were some things that simply could not be ignored no matter how exhausted she felt.

A small explosion just outside of her bedroom window was one such thing.

"Kushina!"

An angered cry was another.

Bleary-eyed yet curious, the young kunoichi rolled out of bed with a groan and rushed as best as she could -- stumbled was more like it -- to the window to see what was going on. And as she wiped the crust from her tired eyes, Mei was greeted with the sight of a frazzled Minato waving away tiny wisps of smoke out of his own window and sending a mocking yet amused glare at a certain red-headed kunoichi standing in the street below. In her hand was what seemed to be an origami frog. Made from a paper bomb.

"Good morning, Nato-kun~" she greeted, a cheeky grin aimed in his general direction.

Just another morning in Konoha, Mei thought to herself with a sigh. And then with a light shake of her head, she proceeded to chuckle fondly to herself before returning to bed for another few hours of uninterrupted slumber, Well... at least they keep things interesting...
