"Kushina..." She wanted to say so much. But the words simply would not come. How could they when there was simply no time left? How can you encompass the whole of your heart and soul in a minute before they came face to face with a monstrous threat? Before they sacrificed everything to ensure that it would not be the end of everything and everyone they ever cared about.

With the weight of the entire village -- the weight of knowing the probable outcome of their plan -- resting heavily on all of their shoulders, what could Mei say to the one person who had meant more than most anyone else in her life? Here, in what could be the final hour of Konoha. Of their lives together as a team.

"Hey...don't give up until the end...right?"

And as she felt the other's hand grip her shoulder, Mei understood. No words needed to be said on the matter. Kushina already knew. "...Right."
