Dad’s little girl loved to smile
Flashing her teeth with endless glee
She used to dance where the flowers grew
Her hair blowing about so joyous and free
She pranced around with the fairy maids
Laughter ringing clear to the skies above
Until one day daddy dear
Forbade her to see the one she loved
Dad’s little girl wanted to cry
To scream at the horror of their fate
Finding out that her true Romeo
Was born out of her greatest hate
He was of Montague by name alone
With skin so dark and eyes so bright
The only son of a rival clan
Stilling her beating heart upon sight
Dad’s little girl held her tongue
Knowing the loathing he held deep inside
For the moment, following his harsh words
Wordlessly licking away the salty drips she cried
Missing the boy’s sweet and angelic face
Smiling when he took the hand of his Juliet
Never forgetting the sharp worry of his brow
When he discovered she was a Capulet
Dad’s little girl is saddened now
Her grin replaced by a solemn frown
No longer the princess she once was
Forever relinquishing her golden crown
Dimples gone from joyous cheeks
Now stained and streaked with dried tears
Slowly her fists clench with determination
Willing away all her fears
Dad’s little girl fought for their love
Relinquishing the cause of their pain
Losing the names of their families
So they could be together again
But the consequences of their choice
Could never be predicted
It left her Romeo dead in the rain
And her brother convicted
Dad’s little girl cried her tears
Silently falling from eyes so red
Seeing her beloved so cold and still
Filling her heart with endless dread
Her heart torn at the thought
Of living on without his grace
Brushing cool fingers over dead cheeks
Tracing around the lines of his face
Dad’s little girl made her choice
Solidifying her resolve then and there
Deciding that going in without him
Was something she just couldn’t bare
No longer could she endure the fighting
The feuding, too much to endure
She hoped to end the battles
Thinking this was the only cure
Dad’s little girl took her life
Taking up the gun in her delicate hands
Placing one last kiss on Romeo’s lips
Leaving the note on top of the night stand
Saying her apologies to the world
Leaving behind their affections so renown
Never realizing the guilt she’d given him
Because he had let his little Juliet down
