Morning Tai Chi

Title: Morning Tai Chi
Type: Poetry
Prompt: Write a poem describing a scene and then at some point have it move.
Warning(s): None.
Disclaimer: Poem written by [livejournal.com profile] tao_empress and should not be submitted stating otherwise.
Notes: I'm going to be writing a lot of poetry thanks to this class. Written as an assignment for my Poetry Class. My professor said it had to be at least 25 lines, I counted out 32. :P

Shadows bathe the land
Nature’s emerald carpet0.
Under her feet
As she waits to greet
The first light of day

A gentle wind breezing
Along chilled skin
Pale limbs encased in cloth remain
Still

Brown eyes look to the east
Spotting a sparkle of light
Peeking between the branches
Over the horizon
Signaling the beginning

Fabric rustles like the leaves
No longer resembling the immovable trees
That surrounded her
She pushes against the stillness
Slowly shifting,
Changing.

The world moves all around her
Comes alive with the sun
Rushing with the day’s troubles
But she is unaffected, keeping her pace
Slowly shifting,
Changing.

Pale limbs, even breath
Muscles straining for release as she moves
From position to position
In a soft dance
Ever slowly shifting.
Changing.
