Useless Fact: [From Wiki] 'The Moirae or Moerae (in Greek Μοῖραι – the "apportioners", often called the The Fates), in Greek mythology, were the white-robed personifications of destiny (Roman equivalent: Parcae, euphemistically the "sparing ones", or Fata; also equivalent to the Germanic Norns). Their number became fixed at three.'

In ancient times, it was believed that the fates of all people living in the world had been determined by three women. Often in the guise of old crones by look, they were said to have been filled with the mystical powers of the universe. Charged with the fabric of time and space that ruled over all beings, living and immortal. One to dictate over a person's past. Another to guide a person through their present. And a third to determine the course of a person's future. Pure mythology, she was sure, but still a novel concept to consider.

But it was not until this moment as she heard the quiet sighs and sharp quibbles of breath in the darkness of Shirou's shop -- stared down at the streaks of tears that slid down her friend's cheeks -- that Mei began to truly believe the old legend. Particularly where one Namikaze Minato was concerned.

"There you are..."

Tied by family and circumstances, it was clear that she held reign over the blond's past. After all, theirs was a relationship and bond based on the long stretch of history that made up the entirety of their childhood together. That much had been clear while they had been seated at the dinner table only minutes before, enjoying a night reminiscing about days gone by while forcefully imprisoned in some dim and quaint shop Tsume had picked out.

"Giving in to the Inevitable," she had called it. Or some ridiculously similar nonsense. Mei gave it little thought after seeing the glint of determination and resolve in the other's eyes. If she knew Tsume well enough, there was very little say on the matter once the young Inuzuka got an idea in her head. And thus it was she who stood at the helm to Minato's present, guiding him (and everyone else around her) through life's mysterious paths.

"That... was quite a show you gave there."

But it was Kushina that waited at the threshold of his future. The one who would be standing at the other side of the tunnel of uncertainty to take hold of his hand and drag him to the man he was supposed to become. To take him the end of the story that was meant to be his. Anyone with an ounce of common sense and intelligence could see it in the way they continued to circle around each other. Just out of reach, yet still within a breath of realization and destiny. If only the red tempest could only see past her own pride and naivety.

"...I think I love him, Mei."

"Yeah," she responded with a snerk, "I kinda figured that when you punched him..."
