She was crazy. And in all honesty, that was one of the reasons why the two of them had become such close friends in such a short amount of time. But even Mei knew when to draw the line. When to hold back for the sake of remaining subtle and tactful. Kushina, on the other hand, was a different story. The all too big explosion and following screen of black smoke was enough to indicate that.
It was only supposed to be a simple training exercise. A game between kunoichi in a controlled environment. Granted, the conditions were taken to the extreme when they both had agreed to hold it in the 44th training area of the village. But with every other area already closed off to them due to previous training damages they had caused from their many spars, Mei and Kushina had little other choice in the matter. Then again, considering the battle tactics they tended to rely on, perhaps it was the perfect playground for the two them.
After all, it was called the Forest of Death for a reason.
All around her, as she carefully stepped out from her hiding spot, the aftermath of their fighting could be seen. Shallow indentions and charred edges marked the places where her companion's origami bombs had struck. Combined with the mass amounts of weapons that laid embedded in the ground and the wood of the trees, it was like a battle field. And as the smoke finally began to clear, Mei trudged closer to regard the newest addition to the chaos.
What had once been a straight flowing river through the training area, was now a mass clearing, marked by a newly and unnaturally formed lake, courtesy of one Uzumaki Kushina.
"What in the world where you thinking?!" the younger woman exclaimed when said kunoichi finally appeared from the gathering dust, "You could've gotten killed, not to mention the fact that you nearly destroyed -- "
Blinking in confusion, Mei stopped abruptly in the middle of her reprimand as the red-head gently poked her in the forehead with a slender finger. "...Tag. You're it."
And then she was off, a hearty laugh echoing through the dark woods while she attempted to disappear from sight. All the while, Mei was left standing there struggling to catch up to what had just happened. It took another moment of thought, a split second to think things over before a reaction finally came into play. "Wha - why you little... get back here, Uzumaki! I'm not done with you yet!"
"Tch, HA! Like hell I'm gonna do something as stupid as that."
"Do you know how much my father is gonna flip when he finds out about this?"
"Not my problem! Now catch me if you can, Hime-chan~"
