The Human Heart
Title: The Human Heart
Type: Prose
Warning(s): Nothing as far as I can remember.
Notes: I owe this one to a period of depression I had. It lasted a while so there may be more of this coming. ^^;
The human heart: it has so many functions. It gives life the flesh and warmth to the limbs. It is the source of a number of human emotions such as happiness and loneliness; heartache and love. With it we can have the greatest feeling in the world. And at the same time it can rip us to pieces; tear us to shreds. Because of it, we can be left in a pit of despair with no hope of finding a way out. But without it we could never expect to survive. Without it, there would be no you or me. There would be no life and there fore there would be no death. There would be nothing.
Such a small organ, yet it’s responsible for so much. It is vital; it is necessary for life. So is it worth all the pain that it causes us if it’s giving us life to feel it; to endure this torture? Or are we better off not feeling at all? Because the truth is, sometimes the pain is too much. Whether we admit it to ourselves or not, we all reach a point where we are willing to do everything it takes to make it end. Whether or not we actually go through with it is the real test.
Are we strong enough to see it to the end? Or are we just cowards who take the easy way out? The human heart is our life line, but in a second it can be all over. All it takes is crossing that line of desperation; choosing a side with which you must live or die with.
So tell me, which side are you on?
